Rock Legends announce limited edition 7” with exclusive mixes.

Record Store Day 2018 is almost upon us, and as we near closer to the April 21 date more releases are being announced. This year features the usual selection of reissues and rarities but Led Zeppelin’s Facebook page raised the ante with Tuesday's announcement that a limited-edition 7-inch single featuring two previously unheard Zeppelin mixes will be part of the haul. The exclusive tracks were mixed by Jimmy Page and are known as the "Olympic Studios Mix" of “Friends" (originally from 1970’s Led Zeppelin III) and the Sunset Sound Mix of “Rock and Roll” (from 1971’s Led Zeppelin IV). The releases mark the 50th anniversary of the band.

Run The Jewels are the official Record Store Day Ambassadors for 2018, a position previously held by St. Vincent, Metallica, Dave Grohl, Chuck D, Joshua Homme, and of course, Mr. Vinyl himself, Jack White.

RTJ duo El-P and Killer Mike said they grew up in record stores buying instrumentals and arguing about music in stores in Brooklyn and Atlanta. In celebration of RSD, they will be releasing a  “deluxe collector’s edition golden box set as well as a 12-inch of some remixes,” so be sure to make it to your local record store for that as well as the HUNDREDS of other releases coming April 21st. You can head here to search for your nearest participating store.
