Last night was the 90th Academy Awards ceremony - did you watch?
The Oscars are, of course, a celebration of acting, but music is instrumental (pun intended) in creating an award-winning film experience. This year's nominees for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture included:
- “Mighty River” from Mudbound by Mary J. Blige, Raphael Saadiq, and Taura Stinson
- “Stand Up for Something” from Marshall by Common, Andra Day, and Diane Warren
- “The Mystery of Love” from Call Me by Your Name by Sufjan Stevens
- “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul
And of course, the winner - “Remember Me” from Coco by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. It's no real surprise that Coco won, the animated feature was a fan favorite and critic's choice, and this song is the common thread woven through the film. Listen to the original from Coco now!
