We need to talk about what "acoustic" means.

Listen, various up and coming artists. I've noticed a trend that I've generally tried to ignore, but I've reached a breaking point and I think we have to address things. It seems like mayyyyyyybe we've lost track of what the term "acoustic" means. I keep seeing performances labeled as “acoustic" that are... definitely not. So, here, let's go to the source:

The key part here being "not having electrical amplification." So if your song hinges on an electrical guitar and an electronic keyboard? You can call it many things, such as: stripped down, slowed down, a sweeter, softer version, a more chill take. But one thing it's not... is acoustic.

I'm looking at you, Niall Horan.
