Donald Glover was the star of SNL this week, pulling double duty, hosting with Childish Gambino as the musical guest. We already kew that DG could pull off smart comedy from his hit show Atlanta, and he showed off more skills with a sketch that took on Kanye West’s week full of… questionable choices.

This is strong satire, borrowing from the hit horror film “A Quiet Place.” The stars have a tough time keeping mum as they follow what Kanye’s up to via Twitter. One by one they get captured by the monster when they can’t keep their frustrated exclamations about his antics to themselves.

OK, now that we've got that out of the way! Kelly Clarkson's got a big month ahead of her - she's hosting the Billboard Music Awards on May 20th - her first time hosting a major awards show. Of course, we all know she's full of personality from her coaching gig on the latest season of The Voice, and I suspect she might be one of the most fun hosts the show has ever had.
Kelly's gearing up for the event, telling us “To prepare for hosting the Billboard Music Awards, I already have 20 costume changes planned. I will be flying in like my girl P!nk and calling Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman for jokes. Well, or I’m just gonna show up and celebrate my favorite artists and get to know a few more. Yeah, maybe I’ll go with that plan.”
But Ellen seemed to feel she needed even more prep, and set her up with her very own daytime talkshow! Honestly... I would watch that.
Might be good that they got a chance to test that "Kelly's Karaoke" bit. I have some notes about cutting it down if they want to use it on the BBMAs.
Watch the Billboard Music Awards - with host, Kelly Clarkson! - 8pm on May 20th live from Vegas!
