Kane Brown will release his new album Experiment on November 9th, but I recently had the chance to go listen to it with some other music industry people here in Nashville. The first thing I can say is, if you liked his first album, you’re gonna love this one even more. There are a lot of different sounds and styles on it and he does them all well.

When he played the song “Homesick” at the album listening event, the video he’s since released publicly was playing along with it. Now, I thought I’d had all the emotions removed from my body, but this? This made me feel one. So don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s ok if you ugly cry. I did.

Watch it here.

And if you want to hear more of it, check it out on Slacker’s Nashville Now.

Comfortably in the sweet spot of mainstream fringe since the 90s, Chan Marshall's music has always channeled the plight of a heart that is fragile and for better/worse, forever open. Basically what I'm saying is, when you go thru a breakup, her catalog is as necessary as a box of Kleenex.

It's been six years since her last album and staying true to self, the ups have been up and the downs have been down.  She had a baby, got sh*t on by her record label and thanks to Rihanna, turned a momentary 'micro-heartbreak' into song. *Did I just coin a new term?

Click here to read a far more eloquent synopsis, compliments of The New York Times.

"An old lover, he was picking me up and he opened the door and that song was on the radio," she recalled. "He said, 'Oh, there's my girl,' and I thought he was talking about me, you know? Then the song ended and he turned off the radio, and I realized he was talking about Rihanna." A few years later, not long after the birth of her son, she heard it again in a taxi and cried the whole ride. That night, she had plans to meet a friend at a karaoke bar, and decided "Stay" would be the only song she performed. She sang it 16 times."

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go listen to it 16 times.

Carrie Underwood’s new album Cry Pretty came out last week (and you still have time to listen to it as our Album of the Week on Slacker if you hurry). In celebration, Carrie made her own Cry Pretty Snapchat filter that adds glitter tears to your face just like the ones she has in the album cover and the live performances she’s done.

Obviously, Brad Paisley had to try it, and, while singing along with the song of the same name, I believe he proved you can cry pretty, thank you very much. See it for yourself on his Instagram.

By the way Carrie reg-grammed it saying, “You make glitter tears look goooooooood!” And Brad’s wife Kim commented on his post with, “Very pretty, honey.” I can’t stop watching. Or laughing.

Hey, if you try it and post it on IG, mention me in the comments so I can see it! @jesswrightradio

Get ready for Lady Gaga to be EVERYWHERE for the next month or two. Her long-awaited film with Bradley Cooper, the remake of A Star Is Born is set to hit theaters on October 5th, and critics are already raving about it. Could Gaga be on the road to winning an Oscar? Maybe. But according to this set of 73 questions with Vogue, she actually prefers to be “Lady”, if you insist on using a nickname.

We find out all kinds of things about her here – some you might have known, and some are brand new information. She says:

*   The weirdest rumor she’s heard about herself is that she has a penis
*   Watches horror movies to relax
*   Claims she doesn’t know what “being on” means
*   Dreams of playing in vegas
*   Wants to duet with Stevie Wonder
*   Calls fashion both a “form of expression and a form of hiding”
*   Says her personal style can be described as “gaga”
*   Confirms that she can write a song in just 10 minutes

Plus Lady reveals that the best advice she ever received came from Duke Ellington, via Tony Bennett: #1 never give up, #2 never not listen to #1. Hmmm… ok.

And as far as the vegas thing goes, she was referring to her upcoming residency at the Park Theater at the new Park MGM resort. She’s prepping two different shows - Lady Gaga ENIGMA, "a brand-new odyssey of her pop hits built as an experience unlike any other in Las Vegas", and Lady Gaga Jazz & Piano, where she will perform stripped–down versions of her hits alongside music from the Great American Songbook. You can ring in the new year with her – the shows premiere December 28th 2018.

Luke Bryan’s got a lot going on. He’s on his huge What Makes You Country Tour, he’s signed on for another season as a judge on American Idol, he just opened a bar/restaurant in downtown Nashville – and celebrated with a free concert in the middle of the street – and he’s got a family at home he tries to spend as much time as possible with.

It’s no wonder, then, that things don’t always go as smoothly as they could when the camera is pointed at him.

Throw in some Jon Pardi trying to charge $100 to see Luke shirtless, Morgan Wallen, a smiling cameraman (apparently) and a few f-bombs, and you’ve got this video you’ll probably want to watch more than once:

A couple days ago I was chilling and being lazy when my homie, Gang, hit me up with a message.

“Yo DuDE!~ Have you seen the metal duo on Sing!?”

Like any person would, after receiving such a well written piece, I wrote back:

“What?” with a well-placed gif of Ryan Reynalds  looking confused.

Little did I know that would start the chain reaction that would be my friend explaining what Sing! China is for 35 minutes. Apparently, Sing! China is a rebranded version of the popular singing show “The Voice” that follows the exact beats from the 4 celebrity coaches down to the spinning chairs. It is, from what I was told, a very popular show. On the most recent episode they had probably the most interesting duo hit the stage. Introducing Huang Anqi and Liu Anqi, a metal duo that go by the name Double Angel, that absolutely killed it on Sing! China!!! Their performance was full of solid vocal work, hooks, and death growls. I actually had to go back and listen to it a few times. Unsurprisingly they got a 4 chair turn (which is a good thing if you do not watch The Voice) securing their place in the completion.

I hope Double Angel gets far in the competition, because they have a new won over fan here in the US that wants them to win!

See for yourself!

2018 has been a pretty epic year for Marshmello – not only has he scored hits with Anne-Marie, Logic & Bastille, he’s also teamed up with notorious gamer Ninja to win the Fortnite Pro-Am and launched a series of cooking videos on YouTube. Plus he just CRUSHED the American Ninja Warrior obstacle course.

Check out the video above to see the superstar DJ & producer cruise through the course like it’s nothing, stopping to do little celebratory dances after completing the trickiest portions.

Marshmello’s identity has never been fully confirmed, although he’s widely believed to be the alter-ego of another DJ, Chris Comstock or Dotcom. Forbes published their definitive unmasking last year. But that hasn’t stopped Marshmello from continuing to have fun with his secret identity. He posted a photo of Will Ferrell taking off the signature helmet to his Instagram over the summer, and allowed Shawn Mendes to borrow the setup for a gag at the MMVAs.

So the question is, with his packed schedule and seemingly unending array of talents, how do we know that’s REALLY him under the mask running the ANW course? What do you think?

These are a few reasonable questions that may cross your mind while watching Ohio State's Sept. 1st, Queen-themed halftime show against Oregon State.

Watch as they seamlessly go from "We Will Rock You" to "Fat Bottomed Girls" to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" to "Bicycle Race" and cap it off with "Bohemian Rhapsody", all while forming the shape of Freddie Mercury...MY GOD THEY EVEN PERFECT THE QUEEN FONT.

*but have you considered the fact that polyester band uniforms are never comfortable, instruments are cumbersome...and chaffing is real??*

Wow OSU. Well done. Go grab some Gold Bond and celebrate yourselves. We can't wait to see what's next.

Brain May thought it was pretty sweet too.
